Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What do you take off of a car before bringing it in to be recycled?
A: The fuel tank must be removed before entering the premises. Tires and wheels can be taken off on site, but they must be taken back with you.

Q: What is the difference between #1 and #2 copper?
A: Clean #1 copper is anything thicker than a pencil lead ( it must not have the insulation on it ). #2 copper is anything smaller than a pencil lead.

Q: What do you need to take off of a radiator for it to be classified as a clean radiator?
A:  All rubber and iron materials must be removed.

Q: What do I need to remove from a lawn mower before bringing it in?
A: You must remove the battery.

Q: What is the difference between clean and unclean aluminum?
A: Clean aluminum has no plastic, steel or glass anywhere on it. The piece must completely free of all other metals and matter other than aluminum.

Q: Does glass need to be removed from storm doors and windows?
A: Yes! We cannot take glass at all, as we have no way of disposing of it.
